Day 1: The AM Flatland Circuit kicked off 2012 in Toronto’s CFO Flatland Unlimited 8. Friday was a full day of practice for the riders. Somewhere between 30 & 40 riders were shaking off the winter rust.
Day 2: Saturday was the amateur portion of the contest. Riders had 2 runs, with best run counting. Novice class had 1 min 30 sec and Expert and Veteran had 2 min runs. Starting things off was the Novice Class. 7 riders competed in the class. Starting the event off was Shaun Lapsley, who dropped a flawless 1st run. The lone female competitor, Rebecca Pergentile, rode really well. Fifteen year old Montreal native, Kevin Gallien, pulled some nice difficult tricks that impressed the crowd of over 100 spectators.
Next up was the Expert qualifiers. 19 riders competed in this class with Top 5 qualifying for the finals. Such a diverse class loaded with skill, it will take some reviewing to be able to really comprehend what went down.
There were 4 riders in the Veteran Class. Standouts were Tony Strickler and Steve Bergeron.
Expert Class Top 5 qualifiers were Prasheel Gopal, Clavelier Rodolphe all the way from France, Ron Monis, Adam Pergentile and top qualifier was Todd Carter! Clavelier either didn’t think he qualified or thought the finals would be Sunday. He was not present for the Expert Finals and will likely finish 5th. Despite some great riding from all top qualifiers and a flawless run by Todd Carter, final results are just too close to call. Excited to hear how it turned out.
At the end of the night some of the pros showed up to get some practice time in. With some of the names on the bill, the pro event will surely entertain!

Day 3: the pros took the floor for Day 3 of the CFO Flatland Unlimited 8. This years event had a great turnout! Moto and Takuya made it from Japan, Dom Nekolny from Chech Republic, Alex Jumilen from France, Terry Adams from USA and Canadian riders Lachlan Cameron, Percy Marshall, JF Boulienne, Jean William Prevost and Francois Cote all made it out. Moro was killing it all day. Dom had a flawless run, Alex was busting some creative high powered front wheel links, Takuya’s first trip to North America was impressive as well. JF has been killing the contest scene and looked dialed.
